Dutch-Esopus War and signing of 1654 Peace Accord, between the Dutch (under Peter Stuyvesant in New Netherland) and the Esopus Indians of the Delaware Nation. Pike & musket drills and sword-fighting training demos, plus battle re-enactment and Native American demos. Full camp, with water, wood, straw, Port-a-Johns and stipend provided. First time we get to fight "Savages" (and be scalped by them)! IMPORTANT: Native American portrayals are highly sought after!

Presented by Prince Rupert's Regiment of Foote and the Duke of York and Albany's Maritime Regiment. An evening of spirited dance, merry song, lively music and passing time with good company. Each party of guests should bring a savory dish (to feed six, or guests can combine dishes to feed more). There will be sweetmeats, scones, tarts (painted and otherwise!), and various other desserts provided for your delight. Entry fee is $6, but must be purchased in advance (no pay at the door). Open to all 17th-century revellers from all units and/or groups. Come and enjoy the holiday merriment! Make checks payable and send to: Janet Nickerson, 306 S. Broom St., Wilmington, DE 19805-3949.
